Domestic Patients

    To make an appointment,
    you must send your ID (passport, foreign registration card) to the IHBC staff to create a patient ID.
    Outpatient clinic is not available without an appointment. You need to confirm your appointment with our IHBC staff.

    Visiting and Treatment
    Please bring your Foreign registration card and passport to verify the patient's identity.
    Patients with Korean health insurance must bring the Referral issued by the primary physician to receive health insurance benefits.
    (However, you can visit emergency room without Referral.)
    Images (CD, film) from other hospitals needs to be stored at the video storage window on the 1st floor or in the automatic image CD register 30 minutes before your appointment, so please bring it with you on the day of your appointment.

    Payment
    First-time patients must pay in advance in order to receive medical treatment.
    Medical expenses can be paid by credit card or in cash.
    (For cash, it must be paid Korean won.)
    Prepayment may be required for some treatments and tests.

    Examination and Prescription
    • If your doctor requires you take certain tests, such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, and PET-CT, our IHBC staff will help you make an appointment.
    • In the case of prescription drugs, if the doctors prescribe medicine, the patient must get it that medicine from an outside pharmacy. If you want to pick it up at an in-hospital pharmacy, the cost may vary depending on your health insurance coverage.
    • For the completed tests, a copy can be issued when requesting the results, and payment be required
    • In the case of a medical certificate, it can be issued upon request on the day of treatment, and there is a cost.
    ※ Medical certificate, medicine prescription, medicine instruction, and receipt are available in English.

International Patients

    If the test results are insufficient or unclear, additional tests may be required in Korea.
    ※ If there is no previous medical records like test results, CT, MRI, etc., treatment may delayed.

    Treatment Request Review
    IHBC staff checks the details of the treatment request and then asks the specialist physician for the treatment availability and plans.
    ※Anyone entering the hospital must issue a QR pass before coming to the hospital

    Information
    Patients will get information, such as treatment plans, expected medical expenses and the process of the medical treatment, from our IHBC staff.
    (* Please note that these medical expenses are amount of the estimated cost that can be changed accordingly, and the treatment plan may change during the actual treatment.)

    Confirmation
    Medical appointment: If you decide to take a medical treatment at Kyungpook National University Chilgok Hospital, you must send a copy of the passport to make an appointment.
    If you want to receive a document such as a medical appointment confirmation, you must send a copy of your flight ticket to the IHBC staff.

    Payment
    First-time patients must pay in advance in order to receive medical treatment.

    Expected medical expenses must be paid as a deposit in advance.

    Treatment
    After visiting the outpatient clinic, the patient is admitted to the arranged ward if needed.
    During the stay in our hospital, the patient will be provided interpretation services.
    When visiting the hospital, be sure to bring your passport for identification.

    • In the case of prescription drugs, if the doctor prescribes medicine, the patient must get it that medicine from an outside pharmacy.

Tricare Prime Members (US military)

    Visit A Clinic in Your Base
    After getting a treatment at your base clinic, an authorization letter will be issued to the network provider if needed.

    Appointment
    - Our IHBC staff will reach you by phone to schedule an appointment after receiving the authorization.
  • 3
    Medical treatment
    Please bring an ID card to verify identification (the passport number is required for the companion’s access approval) When visiting the hospital, contact the IHBC staff for interpretation and medical assistance.
    ※ Anyone entering the hospital must issue a QR pass before coming to the hospital

    Payment :
    If you have Tricare Prime, you don't have to make any payment since we have a contract with Tricare.
    If you are not a Prime member, you must claim to the insurance company after making a payment in person.

    • In the case of prescription drugs, the patient can get it the medicine from the pharmacy in the hospital.
      But if the drugs you need do not get managed in our pharmacy, you will have to get them outside the hospital.
      (In this case, you must claim the insurance company directly.)
